RCST welcomes RC Song Tan Joong Ang of D-3750 from South Korea

Delegates from the Rotary Club of Song Tan Joong Ang of R.I. District 3750 from South Korea headed by its President, Kim Young Jin, were hosted by RCST in its regular meeting last January 18, 2007 at the Redwood Restaurant.  The occasion was made doubly memorable because District Governor Danny Espinosa and Incoming District Governor Danny Fausto were present.

Sumptuous dinner and warm fellowship preceded the night’s program.  Though tired from an earlier trip to nearby Pagsanjan, it didn’t show at all as all mingled around excited to know about each other.

The night’s program was somewhat transformed into a joint meeting with Pres. Manny Guballa calling the meeting to order and followed by Pres. Kim Young Jin. Both countries’ national anthems were likewise sung.  During the introduction of visiting Rotarians and guests, both sides were introduced.  For RCST, PP Butch Arroyo did the honors.  The celebrity hour was very animated and entertaining as PP Frank Abueva recognized the good deeds done by club members during the past week.

During the president’s time, Pres. Manny gave club banners and presented the club pin to Pres. Kim.  Pres. Manny also gave Pres. Kim a locally brewed wine in a very classy bottle.  Pres. Kim likewise presented their club banner, souvenir item and a PHP10,000.00 check.  It is also during this time that both Presidents agreed to work for a long lasting sister club relationship.

In accepting the check donation, Pres. Manny told the group that said donation will be given to the province of Cantanduanes which was one of the places devastated by typhoon “melenyo”.  Catanduanes is where one of our sister club and our recently formed Rotary Community Corp are based.

Gov. Danny Espinosa gave a short message while Incoming Gov. Danny Fausto proposed a toast to the budding partnership between the clubs.  PP Edcel Lagman delivered the club response.

Mabuhay ang RC Song Tan Joong Ang!  Mabuhay ang RCST!  Mabuhay ang Rotary!
