Gov. Danny Fausto commits US$6K for “COW” matching grant project. RCSTJA is international partner.

The RC Song Tan Joong Ang (RCSTJA) of South Korea signed the RCST’s Computer school On Wheels (COW) matching grant project document last July 7, 2007 in a separate signing ceremony during the club’s 16th induction ceremony at the 13th floor 9501 Restaurant.  Pres. Bang Seung Kym of RC Song Tan Joong Ang signed on behalf of RCSTJA while Pres. Cynthia Sotooka signed on behalf of RCST.  Gov. Danny Fausto witnessed the signing where he also a signatory.

Gov. Danny Fausto committed US$6,000 from his District Designated Fund to the project.  This he said during the Governor’s visit held earlier in the afternoon and during his speech as the Guest of Honor and speaker in the induction ceremonies.

RCST holds 16th Induction Ceremonies

The 16th induction ceremony of the Rotary Club of South Triangle was a big success!  This was held at the 9501 Restaurant on the 13th floor of the ELJ Tower, ABS-CBN compound.  The program was ably emceed by PP Frank Abueva and PSec Sylvia Lazo.

            Prior to the ceremonial turnover ceremony, Pres. Manny Guballa delivered his valedictory address then Pres. Cynthia Sotooka her inaugural address.  Pres. Manny was introduced by PP Ben Roxas while Pres. Cynthia was introduced by PSec. Art Tarnate.  The induction of club officers followed with Gov. Danny as the inducting officer.  PP Ray Achacoso then introduced the guest of honor and speaker, Gov. Danny Fausto.  In his speech, Gov Danny was all praises for the club.  He also reiterated his commitment of US$6,000 to the club’s Computer school On Wheels matching grant project.  In response, PP Edcel Lagman lauded Gov. Danny especially his commitment to the "COW" matching grant project.            

Sharing the induction limelight is baby Rtn. Adrian Guerrero.  He was charged by PP Willy Chi and inducted by Gov. Danny.  Congratulations to baby Rotarian Adrian and welcome to the Rotary world.

Among the prestige guests were from the club’s sister club, the Rotary Club of Song Tan Joong Ang of R.I. District 3750 led by Sharing President Bang Seung Kym.  Also with him were IPP Kim Young Jin, Dir. Seu Houyul – International Service, Dir. Park Jae Soon – Vocational Service, Sec. Song Insun, Dir. Lee Mangi – Youth Activities, Rtn. Choi Dosuk, Lee Dahye – Interact Exchange Scholar and Ha Boknam – Rotary Ann Secretary.  Aside from just attending our induction, there was the signing of our MOA renewal on club sisterhood.

Among the guests from the district were Dist. Sec. Ambo Gancayco, Deputy Dist. Sec. Mar Cancio, Senio AG Jess Tanchanco, AG Boy Perlas, IPDG Danny Espinosa, PDG Benjie Bacorro, PDG Danny Reyes, DGE Nominee Dulce Coyukiat and other district officers and Rotarian friends.


The RCST family were also around to enjoy the occasion.  Among them were spouses Flor Guballa, Delia Abueva, Rose Ofrecio, Christel Roxas, Vangie Lanot, Ruby Rios, Charo Baldo.  Pres. Cynthia’s family was also around.

After the induction ceremonies, fellowship and ballroom dancing followed with a live band providing the music till past midnight.

Governor’s Visit 2007

Before the club’s 16th Induction Ceremonies, Gov. Danny Fausto and his district team composed of Deputy District Secretary Mar Cancio, Assistant Governor Danny Perlas, Senior AG Jess Tanchanco, conducted the Governor’s Visit at the 13th floor of ELJ Tower in the ABS-CBN compound.  The one-on-one meeting between Gov. Danny and Pres. Cynthia Sotooka  started promptly at 4 PM.


After an hour, the Club Assembly was convened where Pres. Cynthia introduced to the district team her team for this Rotary year.  The different directors and chairpersons took turns in presenting their respective plans and objectives.


After the presentation, Gov. Danny and his team gave an excellent rating for this year’s plans and objectives.  Gov. Danny was also quick to point out the weaknesses of the club which he challenged the club to work on them.  One is on the membership growth and development.  And the other is on the club organization.  He suggests the club should adopt the leadership organization template to better manage the club.

Overall the Governor and his team were very pleased by the warmth accorded to them.

RC Song Tan Joong Ang and RC South Triangle renew sisterhood ties

The Rotary Club of Song Tan Joong Ang (RCSTJA) of R.I. District 3750 of South Korea and the Rotary Club of South Triangle (RCST) renewed their sisterhood ties at the latter’s 16th Induction Ceremonies last July 7, 2007 at the 9501 Restaurant, ABS-CBN compound.  Signing for RC Song Tan Joong Ang is Pres. Bang Seung Kym and for RCST is Pres. Cynthia Sotooka.  Witnessing the signing were Interact Exchange Scholar Lee Dahye, Immediate Past President Kim Young Jin, District Secretary Ambo Gancayco, Governor Danny Fausto, Past Director for Service to New Generations Art Tarnate and Immediate Past President Manny Guballa.

Other delegates of the Rotary Club of Song Tan Joong Ang include Dir. Seu Houyul – International Service, Dir. Park Jae Soon – Vocational Service, Sec. Song Insun, Dir. Lee Mangi – Youth Activities, Rtn. Choi Dosuk and Ha Boknam – Rotary Ann Secretary.

For its part RCSTJA gave Rotary t-shirts, pins, a desktop Paul Harris bust, a desktop flag pedestal with the Korean, Philippine and Rotary flags. For its part, RCST awarded personalized commemorative plates to each Korean visitors. A matching grant project signing also took place. Mabuhay ang RCSTJA! Mabuhay ang RCST!
